Properties Design

Created automaton duck riding a unicycle for intro to properties fabrication and design class. First sculpting the duck out of polymer clay and painting, I then made the unicycle out of different woods being careful to assure articulation. After I attached the duck to the unicycle and fashioned legs and feet and then painted.
To create this fake food dish, I first sketched out my idea. Then sculpted the steak out of high-density foam scoring the steak to give it a meaty texture. Then I applied a paint effect after I applied crystal gel to get more ridges. After I sculpted two brussels sprouts out of polymer clay and painted them and applied crystal gel to give a glossy look. To create the carrots, I sculpted them out of air-dry clay painted and applied crystal gel to the sides to give a textured carrot outside. lastly, I folded a long strip of canvas and rolled it up to create A caramelized onion look. I created the sauce look on the plate using tinted crystal gel and then I garnished the dish.
